Each year, ATD Baton Rouge membership elects members to lead the organization.  All chapter leaders are volunteers that help the organization to provide programs and services to its members.  Click on a link to see information about current chapter leaders.

Biography
       
      
Susana loves to assist in researching and collaborating on projects to find a resolution.  Her creativity comes from the synergy that develops from bringing a team together. She is currently serving in a Training and Organizational Development Specialist role at Essential Federal Credit Union. 

 

Through the years, Susana has been able to gain great experience in various areas of talent development while  leveraging the use of technology when necessary.  The majority of her career has been spent in government, from the State of Louisiana to LSU, but has afforded the opportunity to lead several training  and eLearning initiatives that have positively impacted several departments and agencies across the United States.  Susana's current opportunities are now allowing her to grow in areas such as organizational development, leadership development, needs assessment, performance management, employee onboarding and orientation. 

 

Susana has received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Master of Science in Human Resource Education, and is currently a Doctoral Candidate for  the Human Resource Education and Leadership Development degree, all from Louisiana State University. 

 

Susana finds time to provide service in the community especially as it relates to ensuring that students start early college and career planning.  She also enjoys managing schedules for her three kids and working with her husband's photography business.  Additionally, she finds time to cheer on the Saints and LSU while visiting family members in New Orleans and Shreveport. 
                 
Chapter Responsibilities
Schedule, create agenda for, and preside over Board Meetings and Chapter meetings; Ensure the achievement of the current Chapter objectives and the development of long-range plans by coordinating, monitoring, and coaching the performance of Chapter officers; Authorize all expenditures in excess of approved budgets; Act as the liaison for the Chapter on all regional and association related affairs required to maintain our affiliate status of the Association for Talent Development; Chair of the Risk Management Committee, Bylaws Committee and Presidents Council.

Biography
 
As a Learning & Development Facilitator in the Office of Human Resource Management at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Chynsia serves as one of the primary facilitators for the department, where she embraces her charge of assessing organizational needs, developing and facilitating management and leadership training, and providing organizational and performance solutions for the university's employees.
 
Prior to joining the University in 2013 as the Training Coordinator for the Office of Human Resource Management, Chynsia started her career as an Associate Consultant with SSA Consultants, a management consulting firm in Baton Rouge. As a consulting associate, she directly contributed to the planning and execution of SSA's long-term business strategy, serving as a liaison between consultants and clients, while managing a high concentration of work in the public sector. She is particularly adept in the development of strategic plans, internal and external consulting, performance management, and research and data analysis reports. 
 
Chynsia earned a Master of Science in Human Resource Education with a concentration in Leadership Development from the School of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development at Louisiana State University. In addition, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology also from LSU, where she volunteered for several student organizations including The Phone: Baton Rogue Crisis Intervention Center and Volunteer LSU. Chynisa is actively involved with the  Association for Talent Development (ATD) where she has served as the VP of Marketing, Communications and Membership.

The President-Elect shall develop and coordinate a leadership development program; coordinate the development of long-range chapter plans; and preside over meetings in the absence of the President.

Biography       
       
 
Regina is a Leadership Development Consultant at the Baton Rouge General Health System. She is a graduate of LSU (B.S. 2005, MPA 2009, and Ph.D. 2013). Regina began her career with the Baton Rouge General in 2015 as their first Leadership Development Consultant. Regina has over 10 years of experience with the State of Louisiana in various roles and organizations before advancing to the Health Care arena. Regina is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Certified Professional within the Society for Human Resources (SHRM-CP). Regina is also a DiSC® facilitator and has conducted several workshops as well as a Master TeamSTEPPS trainer teaching people and teams' strategies and tools to enhance their performance.
 
Regina is a national member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), and a local member of Greater Baton Rouge SHRM as well as the Executive Secretary for the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. In her spare time Regina enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, family and cheering on the LSU tigers and the New Orleans Saints.

The Past President shall serve on the President's Council, submit CARE report to ATD National, coordinate Employee Learning Week, and assist the board on special projects.

Biography
 

 

Patrice is a Senior Learning Specialist at Neighbors Federal Credit Union. She is an alumna of the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in English. Patrice began her career at NFCU as a teller in 2008 shortly after college and now has nine years experience in the credit union industry. Becoming a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor along the way, she is also a member of the Louisiana Credit Union League's Young Professionals Network.

 

Patrice prides herself on contributing to the success of NFCU's expansive legacy of providing premier banking services to the Greater Baton Rouge area for more than 60 years. There she facilities products, ethics and compliance courses as well as member service training. In addition, she designs e-learning courses for the credit union and assists with department with maintaining the learning management system and serving the staff in any way possible.

 

Patrice has a passion for writing, and her other hobbies include traveling and listening to music. She enjoys horror and mystery genres of movies, television series and books. She love a good "who done it." Her interests include art, museums, documentaries and expanding her knowledge and skill-set within the talent development industry.

The Secretary shall conduct, record, and disseminate all matters of decision made by the board of directors, maintain and update chapter leadership rosters and documents as well as record minutes of meetings.

Biography

 
 
Missy Korduner, PhD serves as the Director of Campus Connections supporting first year, transfer, and veteran military students. In her role, she oversees the department's programming initiatives, strategic planning, assessment, budget, and professional and student leader training and development. She is actively involved on the national level serving as a regular presenter at conferences and previously serving as a directorate board member for ACPA's Commission for Administrative Leadership. She has been recognized as the Outstanding Experienced Professional by ACPA's Commission for Admission, Orientation and First Year Experience. She has 15 years of experience working in the field with a focus on student staff training and development, first year students, transition programs, and assessment.
 
Outside of her professional responsibilities, she volunteers with Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women as a member of the Leadership & Nominating Committee, assisting with the recruitment, appointment, and onboarding of Fraternity volunteers. She holds a PhD in Human Resource Education from LSU, a MA in Education (Higher Education/Student Affairs) from the University of Connecticut, and a BA in Music from the University of Connecticut.
 
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and 1 year old son, running, and playing with her 3 rescue dogs.
  
 
Chapter Responsibilities
The treasurer shall assume the office of President in the event that the President and President-Elect are unable to assume their roles; prepare an annual budget; collect and be custodian of all funds; keep records of income and expenditures; provide monthly financial status report to Board; render to the membership an annual report on all financial transactions; provide data for any audits requested by the Finance Committee; and serve on the Finance Committee.

Biography  


Burgundy Cummings is responsible for Training and Development at the Secretary of State’s office.  She creates and delivers eLearning and facilitator-led training on various soft skills and leadership development topics.  She manages the LMS (learning management system) for the Department.

Burgundy has over 10 years of Human Resources experience and has transitioned into a training role within the last 5 years.  She is excited in her new role as the VP of Marketing and Communications and looks forward to meeting more members of ATD!      

 

Chapter Responsibilities
The VP of Marketing and Communications shall create and distribute press releases, prepare and execute the chapter marketing, communication, and social media engagement plans, serve on the professional development committee, and works with board members to develop publications and reports.

Biography 

Liesel is a Learning and Development Facilitator in the Office of Human Resource Management at LSU. She began her career in Human Resources at LSU in 2007. As of 2014, Liesel has been in her role as a trainer delivering participant-centered training in classroom setting to the faculty and staff in the LSU System to develop and improve their professional and managerial skills. Liesel's method of instruction is energetic and engaging, increasing participants transfer of learning in the workplace. Her primary goal is to provide a broad spectrum of training options through consulting and assessment services to ensure continuous individual and organizational performance improvement. Her work has also included delivering training on a variety of supervisory and managerial topics to governmental civil service employees throughout the State of Louisiana through the Comprehensive Public Training Program (CPTP).

Liesel earned a Master's of Science in Human Resources & Leadership Development and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology both from LSU. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, learning about financial wellness, helping friends with their budgets, reading, and playing co-ed soccer.

Biography 
 
 

Melanie Dupard has been an Ambassador for the credit union industry over 15 years. She is currently the Member & Guest Relations Officer for Pelican State Credit Union. A former New Accounts Representative, Member Service Representative, and Corporate Trainer, Melanie truly has a passion for people. She empowers employees and members to soar to higher heights.

 

Melanie is a former Motivational Speaker. In her current role, she succors with Employee Onboarding, Orientation, and Coaching, Corporate Culture, and Administrative Responsibilities. Melanie is a graduate of Southern University here in Baton Rouge, LA.

 

She has an Attitude of Gratitude. She relishes spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys attending church and traveling.

The Vice President of Programs shall plan membership meeting presentations for the calendar year by identifying relevant topics and qualified speakers and provide oversight for the Professional Development and Special Interest Group (SIG) program managers.

Biography

Latoria Williams is currently a Senior Learning Specialist at Neighbors Federal Credit Union in Baton Rouge, La. Her primary responsibilities consist of developing and delivering member service training that are aligned with strategic priorities, maintaining the company’s learning management system and coordinating and facilitating other learning activities as needed. Latoria created a program to assist in developing the talent of internal employees, SYNC Mentorship. In addition to those roles, Latoria supports the Neighbors Way culture by being involved on a special team to assist with increasing employee morale.

Latoria completed her undergraduate studies at Southern University A&M College earning a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation and Leisure Studies. Latoria frequently attends seminars and conferences to stay up to date on the latest T&D tools.

Latoria recently started a concierge business, On The Geaux Errands. Her company assists people who are busy or unable to run their own personal or business errands. Her new venture definitely is something that she enjoys. In addition to growing her brand and business, Latoria enjoys reading all genre of books such as self-improvement, spiritual and mystery. Latoria's other activities she enjoys are playing tennis, cooking, attending church and spending time with her family/friends.

The Vice President of Technology shall serve as webmaster and maintain the local chapter website and any other similar technology utilized by the chapter.
