The most important part of any learning project is the Instructional Design. Without proper Instructional Design, your project is not likely to produce the results you or your client is looking to achieve. Instructional Design begins with your Client Sponsor to define the project goals and desired outcomes, before you meet the client's Subject Matter Expert (SME). It's how you manage, interpret, and translate these two important discussions that will dictate the success of your eLearning project.

  1. Prepare, prepare, and prepare.
  2. Defining "Sponsor" vs "SME" roles.
  3. You are not the SME, don't act like one.
  4. When committees rule - how to move pass indecisiveness.
  5. How to get what you need from the SME.
  6. How to keep the SME in scope.
  7. Interview or discussion, what's your style?
  8. The most important question to ask.
  9. How do you know the SME is accurate?
  10. How do you know when it's finally time to write?
