Missy joined Ochsner Health System in 2011. Her primary responsibilities include workforce development, leader and employee onboarding, performance management, system engagement strategy and frontline learning and development. She is on faculty in the Ochsner Leadership Institute. She develops and executes career development initiatives that ensure the personal/professional growth of employees and result in the achievement of business objectives. Prior to joining Ochsner, Missy served as vice president of education and communications at Alliance Safety Council (formerly known as the Safety Council of the Louisiana Capital Area). There she oversaw the development of petro-chemical and utility workforce safety training. Prior to joining the Safety Council, Missy was an assistant professor in the Communications Department at Xavier University of Louisiana and a consultant providing communication expertise and solutions to clients in business, government, and nonprofit organizations. Missy earned a PhD in communication studies, with a focus on rhetoric and public address and a minor in political science, from Louisiana State University. She is a member of SHRM, the e-Learning Guild and is a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist - COSS®. She serves on the board of directors for two non-profits: Trinity Christian Community and Communities in Schools.
